School Council
Welcome to our School Council. We respect and value the fundamental British Values of democracy and ensure the views and opinions of our pupils are expressed. At the beginning of September, the children are invited to produce a pitch which they then present to their class. The children then elect school council members from year groups 2-4. They are voted fairly and democratically by their peers.
The School Council meet every week but these meetings run at alternate sites so one week will be at Harris Way to meet Year 2 councillors and the following week will meet at Bedford Road for Year 3 and 4 councillors.
We believe our School Council are very effective in helping bring about positive changes in the life of our school, community and we also pride ourselves in the work that we do for charity.
If children have any ideas or suggestions to help improve our school, please see your School Councillors, who will bring your suggestions to the school council meetings.
Our Vision
As a School Council, our job is to listen to anyone and try to work on suggestions given. We are all responsible members of our school who care about making the right decisions. We want everyone to be happy and to be as proud of our school as we are. We involve staff and children to help make the best decisions for our school.

Well Done for creating a super poster to advertise our forthcoming WEAR RED for the Red Cross Turkey appeal.
Friday 17th March. The School Council will be raising money on both school sites to send to the Red Cross Turkey Appeal.
Many thanks for all your support.
Children at Harris Way had their first of many meetings this week!
NEW BUDDY BENCH AT HARRIS WAY
The School Councillors from 2021-2022 discussed how they would like a BUDDY BENCH for Harris Way playground. This bench is where children who might feel lonely and in need of a friend could go and take a seat. School Councillors have encouraged the children in their first assembly at Harris Way to keep a look out for the bench and to show kindness and care for anyone sat on it.
The previous school council raised the money which has funded this bench. More fund raising ideas are sure to be in the pipeline.
POPPY APPEAL - November
Poppies will be sold in school to support this charity.
CHILDREN IN NEED
We invite pupils to provide us with ideas for how we can raise money for our favourite bear - Pudsey
Children in Need day will be on Friday 18th November. We will be having a SPOTACULAR MUFTI DAY where children come into school in spotty or colourful mufti with a donation for this charity.
Previous Projects
Ukraine Day - We raised money to support the Ukraine charities by having a blue and yellow day and raffling this MASSIVE bear.
We have always loved supporting Children in Need. The children enjoyed raising money with a mufti day and invited all children to take part in a colouring competition.
