Design and Technology
At Wootton Lower School, we aim to develop children as designers who demonstrate these characteristics:
- Curiosity for current innovations in materials, products and systems and an understanding of impact of DT on daily life and the wider world
- Confidence to take risks to create innovative ideas and prototypes
- Practical skills to make high-quality products that solve real and relevant problems for a wide range of users
- Ability to work safely and know which tools, equipment and materials are most suitable for making their products
- Ability to draw on knowledge and skills from across the curriculum (Maths, Science, Art and Computing)
- Resilience to adapt their ideas and products after careful critique, evaluation and testing by themselves and others.
